Brief History
The John Thompson Scholarship was created in 2008 to honor John Thompson, a prominent figure in Irish media with almost three decades of influence.
As a prominent executive, John helped create and grow important publications like U Magazine, The Sunday World, and The Irish Farmers Journal. His leadership assignments included Chief Executive of Associated Newspapers Ireland and Managing Director of Independent Star Limited.

To be considered for the John Thompson Scholarship 2025, you must:
- Be a home or foreign student
- Be applying to study at the DCU Business School
- Have applied to the MSc Digital Marketing programme in DCU Business School.
